Seeking the Lord (Part 2)

Speaker: Pastor Shelia Spears

It is a tragic thing to see someone who suffers from spiritual dehydration-people dying spiritually with living water just steps away. In Jn.4.14, Jesus said; “whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again.  The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”   Very few people are truly hungry and thirsty for God.  Very few people are willing to do whatever it takes to know Him. Very few are willing to seek Him. To hunger and thirst for Him is an all – consuming passion that drives every aspect of your life.  We must allow Him to fully saturate every aspect of our lives.  Seeking God with all your heart, mind, and body is a mark of a surrendered life.  The surrendered life is not an option by a necessity for someone who is genuinely filled with the Holy Spirit.

Seeking the Lord (Part 1)

One of the most difficult challenges for any pastor is not sermon preparation or counseling sessions, but witnessing the tragic results of spiritual dehydration-people dying spiritually with living water just steps away.  Very few people are truly hungry and thirsty for God.  The purpose of our worship is to glorify, honor, praise, exalt, & please Father. Worship should be a time when we pay deep, sincere respect, love, & reverence to the One that created us.  Our worship must show our adoration & loyalty to Father for His grace in providing us with the way to escape the bondage of sin.  One of the biggest mistakes that happen today is making worship centered on the worshipper.  Now more than ever it must be clear that Worship is God centered, not man centered.
